My commitment
This site is about rigging the rowing equipments, this means adjusting the length of the stroke, height of the oarlock (gate), the finishing stroke position, inboard and outboard length of the lever, the total length of the oar and so on.
Here’s a short reminder of the boat’s components:
The parameters we will supply depend on the individual parameters of the sportsmen and the position of each one in boat. Having this in mind please take your time to complete every field in the given form.
For the measurements to be as correct as possible we’ve made a help section with photo and sketch examples. If you find it difficult to complete the form please send me an e-mail or contact me via the website’s contact form.
The information supplied after analyzing the individual parameters of the sportsman are:
- L – total length of the oar
- L1 – oar’s handle length (inboard)
- L2 – outer length of the oar (outboard)
- Lx – distance from button to point “x”
- Lo – distance from button to point “o”
- angle sweeped by oar by handle
- a – distance from sit to sill gate (oarlock)
- b – depth of heel to sit
- c – distance between sit and water
- d – distance between gate (oarlock) and water
- e – span / spread – distance between longitudinal ax of boat to pin or the distance between pin’s
- F – distance between oarlock faces line to the front stop of the rails
- G – distance from oarlock faces line to footstreatcher bar
- H – ending stroke position (distance from the oarlock faces line to the position line)
- α – inclination angle of foot-stretcher
- β – oar’s tilt angle – if you have the habit of using it
- γ – lateral inclination of pin (if you have the habit of using it)
- δ – pitch blade (in the orthogonal position)
- gearing
I guarantee a gain of at least two seconds (2 seconds for 1x and 2-; 3-4 seconds for 2x and 4-; 4-5 seconds for 4x and 8+) of the performance of the team compared to previous results, on the condition that the rigging will be done in time and the sportmen get used to the new rigging (2-4 days before the competition)
